Description: This rare, original exhibit poster is a rare and collectible work of art in very good condition with slight wear (score line above the date is just in photo) It is based on a painting by Jacques Villon, and was used to promote the Fourth Biennale of Painting in Menton, France, 1957. Dimensions: 24.5" x 16.5" Artist: Jacques Villon - (b. 1875 – d. 1963), a caricaturist, illustrator, and painter, was the eldest brother of Marcel Duchamp . He is known for the broad range of his styles, ranging from political cartoons to powerful cubist works like this. Printer: This poster was printed by Mourlot, the Parisian studio known for its striking exhibition posters for French galleries and museums. Since the 1920s, its close collaborations with great artists transformed the art exhibition poster into a stunning artistic statement in its own right.
